Christmas in Leicester promises the most magical of experiences this year with an exciting Festive Adventure trail, celebrating the best the city has to offer! From ice skating on a real ice rink, meeting Santa in his snow-covered grotto, taking a ride on the Wheel of Light to delving into a large-scale light installation and entering a winter wonderland in our interactive adventure.

Get into the spirit of the season enjoying traditional pantomimes, world-class shows and watching classic Christmas films. enter a winter wonderland in our interactive adventure. And if that’s not enough there are also exhibitions, craft fair, carol services, competitions and much more!

Keep Leicester Safe: All spaces are COVID Secure and follow current government guidance with procedures in place to protect your safety. If you’re coming to any of our events do a quick lateral flow test before you go out, wear a face covering in crowds and indoor spaces, and please stay at home if you feel unwell. The police are also reminding people to remain vigilant at all times and report anything suspicious.

Let it snow!


Highcross will be kicking off all things Christmas in St. Peter’s Square, with guaranteed snow and some icy surprises…and don’t forget to take a picture with our resident reindeer! The fun doesn’t stop there, from 5 December 12noon – 8pm snow will fall from the skies every 15 minutes plus every Saturday there will be festival walkabout activities for the whole family to enjoy

Santa’s Inclusive Workshop


Every child should have the opportunity to enjoy the magic of meeting Santa without it being a stressful experience. With that at the heart of our mission, The Mckeefery Family, along with, are thrilled to offer Santa’s Inclusive Workshop in the Leicester City Centre. Located on Gallowtree Gate, will be a magical Christmas wonderland with Santa, Elves and a falling snowflake filled sky.

The free workshop welcomes children of all ages with a wide range of special needs. Whether a child has severe sensory overload or complex physical needs, the environment will be adjusted especially for them. The Workshop is wheelchair accessible and will provide plenty of space for your family to see Santa in a warm and friendly environment.  

To be included fill out the form on and you’ll be contacted about convenient time slots. Once you reserve your time slot, we will ask basic questions about your child’s needs so we can plan ahead to make their visit specific just for them.

Christmas Tree Decorations, part of the Firefly trail


10am – 4pm

As part of the Firefly Pop in anytime and make your own firefly to decorate your Christmas tree. Get creative and have fun in this family workshop, suitable for 8’s and over – siblings welcome.

Santa Saturdays


12noon – 4pm

Enjoy festive music and look out for Santa, mischievous elves, giant Christmas puddings, face  painting and more! Also look out for Festive Fridays and random acts of kindness in the shopping centre.

Sunday 5 December Leicester Guildhall

Midwinter Revels

8pm – 10pm

Featuring Christmas carols, winter folk songs, toe-tapping tunes and a plethora of weird and wonderful instruments, the show is brought to life with GreenMatthews’ trademark wit and humour.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

11am – 12.30pm

Enjoy a drink and a roaring fire whilst being entertained with this classic film! The Muppet characters tell their version of the classic tale of an old and bitter miser’s redemption on Christmas Eve.

Join the wonderful Kingfisher Chorale for a festive concert in the magical medieval atmosphere of Leicester Guildhall. Mulled wine will be served in the interval.
